Betty Crocker Coupon and Giveaway

Has anyone tried potatoes from a box? We have and I was quite surprised about how "real" they actually taste! I'm trying to cook more from scratch lately, however, these are good to have on hand for those nights when you need a quick side dish.

Betty Crocker makes these two flavors: Creamy Butter and Roasted Garlic and I'm gonna just throw it out there that ya'll should give them a try.

Here's a coupon where you can save $0.55 off one package.
OR - it would be easier to just leave a comment and then win some.

The Prize:
A prize pack that includes two boxes of Betty Crocker Boxed Instant Mashed Potatoes (one Roasted Garlic and one Homestyle Creamy Butter), a serving bowl, a trivet and a serving spoon.
This bowl and trivet are my newest favorite kitchen items!

  1. Though I prefer homemade mashed potatoes, I've used the roasted garlic ones for years when I'm lazy. They are really good.

    My tips for making homemade:

After you drain the water, put the potatoes back in the pot and heat them just long enough to get rid of the excess moisture.

    Use hot milk (almost scalded).

If you like the taste of pepper in them, use white pepper so you don't have black flecks.

Oh I love the bowl too! Have not tried instant tators in years to tell the truth. My friend use to and they tasted like paste. But would give it a try again!
Now my fav way is Tuna Boats. Don't squinche up your nose that way til you try them.
Bake your tators, cut off top and scoop out the tator leaving a 'shell'. Mix tator with butter, drained tuna, grated cheese, seasonings (your choice of course) and ranch dressing (I prefer sour cream). Put as much tator mix as you can in the shells and top with a lil extra cheese. Place back in oven (in baking dish so no mes) and heat long enough to melt the cheese. SERVE! College Girls favorite!

I usually make homemade mashed taters, but I love the instant to bread things with for baking or frying.

But the best mashed ones I add cheese and onion and sour cream and garlic and bacon... And butter. Lots of butter. It's like a big ol' squished baked potato. Can't be beat.

I add whatever I have in the fridge...odds and ends of cream cheese, cheese balls (sometimes...), sour cream, milk, butter, bacon, cheese, ranch dressing...I've never had a true fail.
