A little late...but I wanted to do a wrap-up of 2011 highlights. I think I typically blog about the big events in my life, and so this should cover the best and the brightest of each month for the last year. I had some really high points (mostly around Andrew)...but some really low points (i.e. I almost died).
- January: I coordinated this amazingly successful volunteer project (which I am repeating in one week) for MLK day.
- February: I aged yet another year-ugh! And I took a really fun photo class.
- March: I learned that I love woodworking, and we all learned that Andrew was admitted to USC.
- April: I participated in the Walk MS event, in support of my friend Alison, whose dad lives with this useless disease.
- May: I was part of an elaborate plan to create the best Mothers Day ever for my mama.
- June: My handsome young son became a High School Graduate! And I spent some serious touristy-time in San Francisco.
- July: I learned that my heart was a ticking time bomb. Blocked arteries are no joke.
- August: Just another avocado attack, aka: I tried to sever my finger.
- September: We said goodbye to Andrew's music group: Vocal Effect. I got a wonderful new-to-me car. I coordinated another successful backpack donation project - it just keeps growing and growing! I have corporate sponsors now-MULTIPLE corporate sponsors!!
- October: Canada, eh.
- November: My little boy continues to age too fast-Andrews 19th birthday! And, I've begun the training to become certified to be a therapeutic foster parent (for respite care to start).
- December: We spent a few days attending USC orientation, learning all about how wonderful Andrew's new life is going to be without me.
Hopefully, when I go to write the year-in-review wrap up for 2012, I'll have some really wonderful things - like:
- Became a foster parent (and love it)
- Met Matt Damon
- Redesigned my back yard and built a fabulous new (and successful) garden
- Learned more Spanish, as is my goal every year
- Found a new hobby
- Lost a bunch of excess weight
- Done a LOT of good for a LOT of people
- Lived life to the fullest

3 people have something wonderful to share:
i think you have some pretty cool goals for the new year kaylen...best wishes on achieving them...
Can I meet Matt with ya?
those are some ambitious goals for 2012 but if anyone can achieve their goals, I'd put my money on you - let me know when you meet Matt Damon. I've always liked him :)
